📍White Dog Cafe, Glen Mills, PA.

Over the weekend I had the chance of finally visiting @whitedogglenmills - a restaurant that prides itself with a Farm to Table menu using the freshest ingredients available from local farms. Not gonna lie, I’m a sucker for local farm produce so I was excited about the menu options. Dog lovers will be absolutely excited with the interior of this spot, where even though each section has its own vibe the common feature in all of them is the memorabilia of various dogs- be it lights, pictures, statues, paintings etc. During my visit I had the opportunity of trying the following:

1- Bread & Butter (for the table). Not only does the fresh bread smell amazing but it tastes like perfection.. I could be biased though since I truly love bread.
2- Truffle Fries- the only thing I love more than bread is probably fries and I ate all of mine. Super tasty!
3- Three Cheese Pierogies- a perfect dish reminding me of my babushka’s cooking.
4- Glazed Brussels Sprouts- an interesting take on Brussels sprouts made with maple syrup. I prefer this side to be more salty/sour but it was still interesting. I liked it even though it was sweeter than expected.
5- Avocado BLT- I love avocado, eggs and spicy aioli sauce so this was a no brainer!

Too be perfectly honest, almost everything on the menu sounded super tasty so I can’t wait to come back!

I’ve learned to recognize my Shadow, as she creeps in. I’ve learned the importance of grabbing hold to my inner light as a way to remember why I do what I do... To remember this is what I love..

Located in the trendy West Loop, The Allis is a social, trendy space boasting good food and a lovely ambience. In 2019, I popped in after lunch for their Afternoon Tea menu (which is absolutely a must try for tea lovers- the tea selection is great)! I also ended up ordering some funky merengue dessert (can’t remember the name but it’s the dish in the photos) which came on a beautiful China dish and hit the sweet spot for me (a rarity since I rarely order dessert). I’m a sucker for some gorgeous interior design and @theallischicago delivers. From the chandeliers, wooden country style tables, velvet chairs/sofas and modern mid-century chairs, the aesthetic interior is quite to my taste. I can imagine myself finding a corner and curling up with a good book! I read online that on certain days there is live jazz and acoustic performances- if I’m back in Chi-town you can bet I’m going to try to make it to a live performance. Gotta say I miss the warm weather where you can take comfortable strolls outside...🖤🖤I like the seasons but I get over winter really quickly. Practically after the first nice snowfall and first snowboarding trip. Now I’m waiting for the warmer weather so I can chill outside without being miserable 😂 #philadelphia #philadelphiaphotographer #universitycity

2020 has been a crazy year- full of highs and lows

2020 has been a crazy year- full of highs and lows and everything in between. Throughout the year I was constantly reminded of everything and everyone I was thankful for. I’m thankful for the friends I saw and those that visited. I’m thankful for my family and everything we have been through together. I’m thankful to be working and I’m thankful for being healthy. I’m thankful to God for everything He put me through this year- it has made me stronger and wiser.

It’s been a tough couple of days, and the time has finally come to a standstill for Grandpa Roman. It’s hard to put into words how I feel but I keep reminding myself that I should be happy that he is now in a better place. Grandpa did not have an easy life, even his passing was complicated. I am thankful that he was able to take his last breath with family members by his side. It’s hard for me when I catch myself glancing in his room checking up on him when he isn’t there. My mom and I keep saying things such as “did you include grandpa in the food order” or “take this or that to grandpa”... living together really made us get attached and it just feels so strange now that he is gone. Love ya gramps, even though I know that you are happy up there in heaven- the place you always strived to get to. I miss you already.

If you’re ever tired walking through NYC- a nice spot to just relax is to do a round trip on the Staten Island Ferry. It’s 25 minutes one way but you can sit down and enjoy a passing view of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan Skyline. Not to mention that the air breeze feels nice ☺️☺️ #bigapple #statenislandferry #nycferry #whyilovenewyorkcity
